Meet Cornhole Meesh

I'm Dr. Michelle Thompson, and my path here wasn't exactly a straight line.

It started in 2006, when I was working as a personal trainer. I kept running into the same wall: I could build someone a perfect program, and they'd still self-sabotage, quit, or freeze up when it mattered. Something was missing and it wasn't about the workout. It was about the human behind it.

That question sent me down a long road: Training in food psychology, NLP, and yoga, all in pursuit of understanding the whole person, not just the body. Eventually I shifted into coaching health psychology full-time, spending years helping people work through the behavior side of weight and overeating.

Then I found cornhole. I fell hard for it... as a player, then as a commentator, podcast host, sideline reporter, and personality on the professional circuit, all while running weekly tournaments of my own.

Somewhere in there, I kept studying: A master's in human behavior, coursework in nervous system regulation and somatics, and eventually a doctorate in general psychology. That training, combined with a courtside seat to professional cornhole, led me somewhere I didn't expect: Watching talented players fall apart under pressure, and realizing I finally had the tools to help.

For the past 5 years, that's exactly what I've been doing: Helping competitive cornhole players work through the mental side of their game. I've since brought that same work to teens navigating performance pressure, and I currently teach SEL skills to K-8 students at a school. Most recently adding Professor to the list, teaching health and sports psychology courses at National University.

It's really all one thread: Understanding what's happening in someone's head, and using it to help them perform: On the boards or anywhere else pressure shows up.

If you're ready to stop white-knuckling your mental game and start actually training it, take a look at what's available below.
